Leon Nguyen

Hi! I'm a recent University of Connecticut graduate with an eye for aesthetics. I enjoy taking pictures, performing and composing music, and creating artwork. I am also exploring the world of big data and analytics, AI safety and regulation, and payment service provider integration at a financial technology company.I recently graduated with a 4.0 GPA as University Honors Laureate in December 2025 with a Bachelors of Science in Statistical Data Science, Bachelors of Science in Mathematics, and minor in Organ Performance under the instruction of Dr. Angela Salcedo. My honors thesis focused on job mobility patterns of Indian-American immigrants in the US labor market, using exploratory data analysis with webscraped LinkedIn data and statistical modeling.I am also a freelance church organist based in the NYC metropolitan area available for services and weeknight gigs. In March of 2025, I was awarded the Roberta Bitgood Organ Competition Scholarship from the New London Chapter of the American Guild of Organists after two years of organ study. For inquiries, you can reach me at

I often do organ gigs as a hobby! I had the opportunity to play a German Baroque organ at College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA.
(similar to what Bach himself would have played!)

+ I earned my certification in Data Analytics over the summer before my senior year of high school, and I together a visualization that indicated the highest quality cacao from various locations and their cacao percentages (given a relatively small dataset). It was one of my first and I hope to make many more visualizations like this in the future.+ The spring/early summer of my junior year, after AP exam season, I opted to do video projects for my finals. I downloaded a free video production software and played around with various features and tools until it could get it to do the functions I wanted. One was for AP Calculus and the other was for AP English Language. I did a video project on tetris and NP computation and a video discussing Bentham's Panopticon. Both warrant interesting discussion and are topics I found really cool.+ I started programming with a "real" language (outside of Scratch/Hopscotch code blocks and Minecraft commands) when I first started my undergrad degree. As I'm about to graduate, I have Python, R, SQL, and even a little Swift, HTML, and CSS under my belt! I'm familiar with data science and machine learning packages (i.e. Numpy, Pandas) but am looking to expand to full-stack development. I've done exploratory data analysis projects, predictive/descriptive modeling, and am now learning how to build webpages!

Vietnam Mission 2026

This summer, we are mobilizing aid and committed to delivering care packages and resources for three target demographics in the Southern region of Vietnam: orphaned children, elderly folks, and impoverished families.During the summer of 2016, we were able to deliver and distribute care packages to local orphanages and elderly homes. We were able to distribute about 4,000 pounds of white rice, over 450 kits of toiletries including toothpaste, soap, and towels, over 100 bottles of cooking oil, 24 cans of baby formula, 20 packs of diapers, and additional items. Because of your generosity, we were able to provide basic necessities to 450 people across six different orphanages and nursing homes, as well as 70 local impoverished families.A donation of $1 USD is equivalent to one whole meal for someone in need. Every dollar truly makes a difference, and 100% of the proceeds go towards purchasing food and supplies. No admin or travel fees.If you can find it in your heart to give anything, anything at all, we are accepting donations via cash/check/venmo until June 19, 2026. Venmo donations with the memo "Vietnam Mission" are accepted at @leonnguyenn.Thank you!
